#GettingToKnowUs: Neha Kotak

In the last of our series on our amazing TSAFF Board of Directors, Neha Kotak is our star of #GettingtoKnowUs.

Find out more about our TSAFF Co-Chair.

What’s your role on the TSAFF board?

I am the Co-Chair and Director of Finance & Sponsorships.

How long have you been with TSAFF?

I have been with TSAFF since its inception, so it will be my 5th year working with TSAFF

What’s one thing that stands out as a highlight from the past few years?

To step back and see – TSAFF’s growing presence, outreach and impact every year!

What’s the most challenging part of running a charity film festival?

Come September/October  – the ability to balance two equally demanding competing priorities: festival and a full time job

What’s the most rewarding thing about being part of TSAFF?

I have a few reasons to feel rewarded….

It’s an opportunity for me to contribute to humanity and be truly borderless in my thinking (I am a non-South African!)

It’s an opportunity to contribute and make a difference by:  raising funds to support education and empowerment of children, supporting the South African Film Community, creating a platform for South Africans to celebrate their culture and history and building a strong sense of expat South African community in Toronto.

How did you get involved with TSAFF?

Having learnt about my interest in education and children and my aspiration of ”Giving Back”, I was approached by a former colleague and EWB Board Member – Nic Tsangarakis to be part of TSAFF.

What’s your day job?

I am a Business Psychologist running an independent consulting practice – Leadership Lens Inc.

What do you do in your spare time? Any interesting hobbies?

I enjoy cooking, reading, playing the piano and just love being with my precious family!

What is your one wish for a future TSAFF event?

A fully sold out festival and an everlasting TSAFF hangover!
